HSE 2025

Great to be back at HSE 2025 this week after a few years away. It was a valuable opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, meet some new ones, and have some insightful conversations—not just about the latest products, but also about the shifting landscape in the PPE industry.

Plenty of chatter around US tariffs—lots of uncertainty, and few clear answers. There was also genuine concern around NIOSH reported layoffs, with around two-thirds of their workforce affected. The implications for PPE certification could be significant. Where there’s disruption, though, there’s also opportunity… and it’ll be interesting to see where that emerges.

As always, the show had its mix of innovation—from genuinely impressive technologies to a few products that left me questioning their user-centred design. But my personal highlight? A wonderfully simple yet effective idea: ITIP Safety Handles from itiphandles.com. Proof that sometimes, the most powerful innovations are the ones that solve everyday problems with elegance and clarity.

Next up: Hardware Pioneers Max, 23–24 April 2025 in Central London. Hope to see some of you there.
